Straw Rockets

Craft a little rocket that you can blow into the air!

You will need:
- Card
- Coloured pens
- Scissors
- Cello tape
- A straw (not pictured)

Step 1:
Draw the outline of a rocket on a piece of card. You could also include a nose cone, some fins and even a little window. Once you’ve finished drawing your rocket, cut it out.

Step 2:
Use your coloured pens to give your rocket a unique design. This can be anything you like, make it stand out!

Step 3:
Cut out a smaller bit of card about 5cm long and roll it into a tube. This tube should be wide enough to fit a straw inside it.

Step 4:
Seal over one end of the tube with a piece of tape.

Step 5:
Tape the tube to the back of the rocket with the open end at the bottom.

Complete!
Your straw rocket is now complete! Now you can take it for a flight; stick it on one end of a straw and blow through the other end to see how far it flies.
Get Creative: Why not try and make something else that flies, like a bird or an insect?
