Kites

You Will Need
- Coloured card (1 A4 piece)
- Streamers (or alternative)
- A straw
- String
- Coloured pens
- Scissors
- Cello tape

Step 1a:
To make the kite shape; start by folding the piece of card in half. Then fold one side back on itself at a slight diagonal. Now flip it over and repeat the same fold the other side.

Step 1b:
This should create a ‘V’ shape fold in the middle of the card that’s bigger at one end than the other. Bring the two sides together and you’ll see the kite shape forming.

Step 2:
Tape these two sides together with a strip of tape down the middle. You could also tape a straw across the kite near the top to give it some extra stregnth (see next picture).

Step 3:
Use your coloured pens to give the kite a unique design. This can be anything you like, make it stand out!

Step 4:
Tape streamers to the bottom of your kite at the back. (If you don’t have tissue paper you can use string, ribbon, or old cloth to make streamers)

Step 5:
Cut off a piece of string, about a metre long will do, and tape one end to the top of the kite at the back

Complete!
That’s your kite complete! Now you can take it outside and see how it flies about in the wind.
