Whitelee Rangers’ Reptile Survey Underway

The Whitelee Rangers have launched a reptile survey across the windfarm and are delighted to report their first lizard sighting. The findings from their research will be fed into the National Amphibian and Reptile Recording Scheme (NARRS) that will help to map reptile populations across the UK.

Currently reptiles are thought to be suffering from habitat destruction with several species under threat like the common lizard and the adder. The work we do at Whitelee to restore and manage habitat is helping these species thrive.

If you spot any reptiles while exploring the windfarm take note of the location and species, if you know, and let our Rangers know!
