Scottish Power Renewables Whitelee Windfarm visitor centre

This season at Whitelee we will be running a variety of 'Meet the Expert' sessions at the Visitor Centre, where you can learn more about things Whitelee-related from the people that know best!  

Please note: some events are drop-in and others have to be booked, please check each listing for details. MTE activities are on a first come first serve basis and have limited capacity. Programmes may be subject to change or cancellation.

The Whitelee Countryside Rangers - Evening Talk

Join Maree and Rennie on Wednesday 28th March at 7pm for a presentation about the fascinating history of Whitelee. Hear about the hidden history of the windfarm as well as the surprising variety of wildlife found there, in the pleasant surroundings of the Visitor Centre - saving you a lot of walking to find it yourself!

Wednesday 4th April at 1pm

Whitelee Habitat and Biodiversity with Peter Robson

Join ecologist for SPR, Peter Robson, on Wednesday 4th April at 1pm for an insight into the habitat and biodiversity of Whitelee. Find out the importance and challenge of preserving the sensitivities of Whitelee such as birds species, water vole/otters, veilwort and blanket bog. Discover how these challenges were dealt with during the design, construction and planning of the windfarm.

The event is a drop-in, though space is limited.

Eaglesham Planned Village and Heritage Trail
Illustrated presentation by Bill Niven and Ken Mallard

Join us on Sunday 22nd April at 1pm/3pm for an insight into the glorious history of the Planned Village of Eaglesham and recently opened Eaglesham Heritage Trail.

Ken Mallard will show his DVD of the opening cermony by the Earl of Eglinton on 2nd September 2011. Bill Niven will present the Heritage Trail Guide and a presentation covering Eaglesham's history stretching back to the Norman Conquest.
