Whitelee Windfarm is set to get greener as work on a 75 turbine extension nears completion. When the new turbines are operational, Whitelee’s generating capacity will be boosted to 539 megawatts, enough to provide power to the equivalent of over 300,000 homes!*
June 2013 is the target date for full operation, and when achieved, an additional 44 kilometers of trails will become available for use.
The main access road running from Lochgoin to Ardochrig is now open for recreational access and we are working towards removing the construction restrictions across the extension site, with a target date of the end of June.
